Reservation Policies

COVID-19

Traveling with groups in the outdoors is an inherently risky activity. We advise anyone who is high risk for Covid-19 to consult their doctor and to consider if they should partake in this activity. We may take some steps to specifically mitigate or reduce the risk of transmitting communicable diseases, such as Covid-19, but we cannot reduce all risk and everyone attending one of our trips should be comfortable with those risks.

Booking Requirements

• Name, contact phone number, and email address are required for all bookings.

• Some trips have a 3% or other set land-use recreation fee added to them.

• All trips require a paid deposit to be considered confirmed.

Deposits and Payments

Single-day trips:

• 31+ days prior to launch: 30% deposit due, with the balance due 30 days prior to the trip.

• 30 days or fewer to launch: full payment is due at the time of booking.

Multi-day trips: all reservations require a 50% deposit to be considered valid. Full trip payment is due 60 days prior to departure. If the trip is not paid in full by then, the reservation may be cancelled by Orange Torpedo Trips.

Cancellation Policy — Single and Half-Day Trips

• 72+ hours prior to launch: eligible for a 50% refund of the full trip payment.

• 72 or fewer hours prior to launch: the trip fee is forfeited.

• We do not cancel trips due to smoke, rain, or thunder and lightning. Please consider purchasing travel insurance.

Cancellation Policy — Multi-Day Trips

All deposits and payments are non-refundable. We require the purchase of travel insurance through Travel Guard to protect your investment in case of illness, travel issues, wildfire smoke, evacuation, or other unexpected problems. Ask our office staff about this.

Trips still run in smoky conditions as long as the river remains open. If the river is closed by authorities due to fire, road closures, or flooding, payments can be moved to another trip or a future season but will not be refunded.

Trips cancelled by Orange Torpedo for low-water or high-water conditions, based on the experience and judgment of our staff, will not be refunded. The payment or deposit may be rolled over to another trip at any time.

Trip Transfers

• 61+ days out: transfer 50% of the deposit to next year, or move to another same-season date at no charge.

• 31–60 days out: transfer 50% of the deposit to next year, or move to another same-season date with a 15% fee.

• 1–30 days out: no transfer of payments, but you may move to another same-season date with a 20% fee.

• You may transfer your reservation to someone else at any time.

Lodge Trips

Lodge trip cancellation policies are the same as camping trips, plus a $250 penalty on top of the standard re-booking fees listed above. This penalty is due to limited lodging space and the commitments we make to the lodges after you book.

Travel Insurance

We strongly advise purchasing travel insurance through Travel Guard. Many policies cover deposits and balance payments that are non-refundable through Orange Torpedo Trips. Coverage can also include evacuation fees. If you need to leave a trip early for any reason, transportation is at your expense. Our sales staff can get you a quote — email or call us.
