June is when the season really opens up. Snowmelt keeps the Salmon and Hells Canyon running big, the Rogue warms up for swimming, and the days are the longest of the year.

Good to know
Big Water, Long Days
Early summer is a sweet spot on our rivers. Idaho's rivers are still carrying snowmelt, so the rapids on the Salmon and in Hells Canyon are big and fun. In Oregon, the Rogue and North Umpqua settle into warm, sunny days made for swimming between rapids.
June dates fill fast with families planning around the end of school, so it pays to book early. Mornings on the water can still be chilly, so pack a warm layer. Each trip page has a full packing list.
